Cancellations

A section can be cancelled two different ways depending on if there is enrollment in the section. There are additional options for cross-listed sections.

It is indicated that students are enrolled through CLSS by looking next to the “Enrollment” section of the section editor window. For example, the one below shows no students enrolled.

If there are no students enrolled:

Use the drop down box next to Status in the section editor window to change it from Active to Cancelled Section.

Once this has been changed, click Save Section and initiate workflow.

If there are students enrolled:

First, zero out the enrollment for the max enrollment so additional students cannot enroll.

In the Comments area, indicate to cancel the section. The section will be cancelled manually by the Registrar’s Office. Note that it is the department’s responsibility to contact students regarding any section changes.

Once this has been done, click Save Section and initiate workflow.

Cancelling cross-listed sections:

Cancelling a cross-listed section is completed in the same manner as a normal section cancellation. When cancelling a cross-listed section, all cross-listed sections attached to it will also be cancelled. If it is desired not to cancel all sections, please state this in the Comments area.

Once this has been done, click Save Section and initiate workflow.
