Former students are University of Nebraska–Lincoln students who are not enrolled in classes for a current or upcoming term.
Ordering Electronic Transcripts
Sending an electronic transcript through email is the fastest, most secure and environmentally friendly method. Electronic transcripts are only issued using the National Student Clearinghouse and cannot be requested by contacting the Registrar Office. The charge for an electronic transcript is $15.00 per transcript.
Former students can order electronic transcripts through the ordering website.
BEFORE ORDERING:
- Avoid potential problems with spam filters. In email settings, allow emails from the National Student Clearinghouse to receive an electronic copy of a transcript.
- Electronic transcripts are only considered official in PDF format. If printed, the COPY watermark will appear to indicate that the paper copy is not an official institutional document.
- Additional attachments can be sent with electronic transcripts during the ordering process if necessary.
- Electronic transcripts for College of Law students are available separately for $15.00. Follow the same instructions and select the "Law" option when prompted. Electronic transcripts are not available if there is a hold that prevents the release of transcripts.
If you have any issues ordering your transcript, opening the transcript, need to resend the link or track your order, visit the National Student Clearinghouse website for step-by-step guides and support.
Ordering Paper Transcripts
Former students with attendance after fall 1986 can request a free paper transcript to be mailed via MyRED. Transcripts will not be released if there is a hold that prevents their release on your account. Please view your holds in MyRED or contact Husker Hub at 402-472-2030 for more information.
Students who attended prior to fall 1986 or do not have access to MyRED can request a free paper transcript using the PDF Request for Official Transcripts Form or College of Law Transcripts Request Form (as applicable).
A student needing a mailed transcript with special handling such as separate sealed envelopes, expedited FedEx delivery, etc., will also need to use the PDF Request for Official Transcripts Form or College of Law Transcripts Request Form. Incomplete forms cause a delay in processing. To ensure timely processing, completely fill out the form and hand-sign.
There is no charge for printed official transcripts. Transcripts can be sent via FedEx Standard Overnight Delivery. This request must be completed on the Transcript Request Form and will be billed directly by FedEx to your credit card or FedEx account. The request form must state your FedEx account number or your credit card number, 3-digit code, expiration date and credit card type (MasterCard, Visa, etc.). FedEx cannot deliver to PO Boxes including US military PO box addresses such as APO and FPO.
Forms can be returned via email, fax or paper mail to the following:

registrar@unl.edu
If choosing this option, please attach the document as a PDF or clear and legible picture. Do not embed the form in email or send it through a link/document site.

MyRED Access
To access MyRED, students first set up TrueYou credentials by using student designated NUID (Nebraska Unique Identifier).
Students who graduated or stopped attending Nebraska PRIOR to fall 1986 will not be able to access information through MyRED.
- Go through the TrueYou Identity Manager and follow the steps on the screen. Students need their Social Security Number during the steps.
- Log in to MyRED using NUID.
- MyRED initially displays a "Welcome" page. Then, a process runs overnight to load student information.
- Once the process is complete, students can log into MyRED to view records and order transcripts.
For technical questions, issues logging into MyRED or inability to access the transcript request section under the Academics Tab, contact the MyRED Help Desk at 402-472-3970.
