IMPORTANT NOTICE

Electronic Transcript and Verification ordering has changed in summer of 2023. Review the new ordering process below.

information icon Important Information about ordering transcripts:

  • Transcripts are confidential records and may only be ordered by the student whose record is being requested.
  • In compliance with FERPA law, the student’s original signature must be included. Typed electronic signatures are not considered valid, and transcript orders are not accepted over the phone.
  • Transcripts will not be processed if a student has a hold that prevents the release of transcripts.
  • Transcript records contain the entire student record. Transcripts are not sent for individual semesters, careers, or courses.
  • Processing time for student records is 1-5 working days. Allow extra time for processing during end of semester and commencement peak periods.
  • The Registrar Office does not process requests for unofficial transcripts. Those who have access to their MyRED account with attendance after Fall 1986 can obtain unofficial transcripts under the Academics tab in MyRED.
  • Need help? Call Husker Hub: 402-472-2030.

  1. Go through the TrueYou Identity Manager and follow the steps on the screen. Students need their Social Security Number during the steps.
  2. Log into MyRED using NUID.
  3. MyRED initially displays a "Welcome" page. Then, a process runs overnight to load student information.
  4. Once the process is complete, students can log into MyRED to view records and order transcripts.

For technical questions, issues logging into MyRED, or inability to access the transcript request section under the Academics Tab, contact the MyRED Help Desk at 402-472-3970.

Transcript FAQ

Q: How do I open an electronic transcript?
A: National Student Clearing provides information on how to open an electronic transcript.

Q: How do I know if the electronic transcript is authentic?
A: Each electronic transcript has a blue ribbon certifying that the document is authentic and unaltered. If a transcript is altered, the blue ribbon is not present.

Q: How long do I have to download an electronic transcript?
A: Electronic transcripts can be accessed for up to 30 days from time of delivery.

Q: Can I change the recipient of a transcript after the order has been placed?
A: Once the order has been placed, the recipient's name, address, email address, etc. cannot be changed. Remember to check the information prior to submitting order.

Q: Can I upload an attachment with my order?
A: You can upload an attachment with your electronic transcript order. Then, if you need us to review it, you can do so or you can select to have it sent without review (faster). If you want a paper version of your transcript with an attachment as a UNL student, you will need to fill out the Transcript Request Form.

Q: It says I can’t be found in the system when placing an order for an electronic transcript, but I attended the University of Nebraska–Lincoln and not another University of Nebraska school (Kearney, Medical Center, Omaha).
A: You can continue to place the request after verifying your information is correct and click “No” where it asks you if you want to update your personal information. It will then be manually reviewed by the Registrar Office. The Registrar Office will use the email you provided when you ordered if there are any questions or issues. Otherwise, after our review is complete, you will receive an email confirmation (or text if you opted in for such) when the order is delivered to the recipient.

Q: I ordered my electronic transcript and part of it is missing.
A: The full record should be included on the file as an attachment. You can open the Attachments panel in Adobe Reader by choosing View > Show/Hide > Navigation Panes > Attachments.

Q: I can’t see the transcript key on an electronic transcript.
A: The transcript key should be included on the file as an attachment. You can open the Attachments panel in Adobe Reader by choosing View > Show/Hide > Navigation Panes > Attachments.

Q: I ordered a transcript but it’s blank.
A: Transcripts will only show courses you are enrolled in once the Census Date has occurred for that term. If you are enrolled for a future term, you will not have those courses on your transcript. You will want to order an Enrollment Verification document instead of the transcript if you need proof of enrollment.

Q: What does the "hold for grade" ordering option mean?
A: The "hold for grades" option allows current students to place an order ahead of time for the end of the term when grades are finalized. The date is listed on the welcome page for electronic transcripts.

Q: What does the "hold for degree" ordering option mean?
A: The "hold for degree" option allows graduating students the ability to place an order ahead of time for the end of the term when degrees are posted on the transcript. The date is listed on the welcome page for electronic transcripts.
