Editing Variable Credit Courses in Stellic
Variable credit courses allow you to update them to whatever credits you need to take it for within the approved range. The range of credits you can be enrolled in is dependent on the course and not all courses are set up to be variable credit. Once you've enrolled in a variable credit course, you may change the credit for the course on your own using Stellic until the last day to add the class. After that point, you will need to speak with your academic advisor about any credit updates. Refer to our Academic Calendar at https://registrar.unl.edu/calendars/academic-calendar/ for relevant dates.
Important Note: Changing your enrolled credits may affect your scholarships and financial aid. Additionally, it will increase or decrease your tuition bill, and may impact your progress towards your degree. Updating your Enrolled Variable Credit Hour Courses
Navigate to the Stellic Scheduler (https://registrar.unl.edu/class-registration-tutorials/accessing-stellic-scheduler/).
Under the left-hand panel, My Courses, find and click the course with variable credits that you wish to update. This will open up the right-hand Class Details panel.
On the Class Details right-hand panel, find the Credits field. You will see there is an Edit link listed to the right of the number. Click that link.
You will then get a dropdown list of the range of credits you can select from. Select the most appropriate choice.
If it is successful, you will get a green box at the top that states that the number of credits for that class have been updated. You will also notice that the Credits field has been updated.
If you get an error, it could be because it is too late to change the credits, or you are trying to register for too many credits. Reach out to your academic advisor for more assistance.
